In today's tough job market, it is really important that people not only gain relevant qualifications but also develop skills, attitudes and attributes that employers are looking for.

Apprentices work alongside experienced staff to gain specific skills.  Apprentices also attend a training provider such as a local college (usually on a day release basis) to receive additional training which leads to recognised qualifications.  Apprenticeships usually last between one and three years depending on the training programme.  Looking for an apprenticeship is like looking for a job.  You will be interviewed and may need to take a test for the employer or training provider to check an apprenticeship is right for you.

How much do you get paid:

Apprenticeships.org.ukBased on the drive to make Apprenticeships the new norm for ambitious young people, the campaign will celebrate the increasing numbers of young people who are putting Apprenticeships as their first choice after receiving their exam results. It will also celebrate businesses using Apprenticeships as their first recruitment choice whilst reassuring those businesses, potentially nervous about taking on 16 to 18 year olds, that there is a high quality pool of talent to choose from.

A mini campaign hub, similar to that used for National Apprenticeship Week will be developed to host useful information for apprentices, parents and also host a toolkit for partners.  Please be advised that the Apprenticeships First Exam Results toolkit is now live on the website.
