“First Point Dorset gave me hope when I had none.” – John, service user

Feeling secure and stable in your home is your right. If you’re at risk of losing that security, through financial problems or legal dispute, you shouldn’t have to face that alone.

This is why First Point exists. We are a homelessness prevention service providing housing related support across the county of Dorset. If you live in the area, aged 16-65 and are facing housing problems, we’ll do everything we can to help you back on your feet and onto the right path to a stable future in your home.

Can-do and Person Centred

Because no two people or problems are the same we tailor bespoke support plans for everyone we work with. We can offer practical help with:

  • Rent arrears
  • Benefit claims (including support with appeals)
  • Budgeting and household debts
  • Advocacy with landlords or other agencies.
  • Moving on from hospital, supported housing, or other accommodation to somewhere more appropriate to your needs

Our friendly, professional staff work in West Dorset, Weymouth and Portland, Purbeck, North Dorset, East Dorset and Christchurch.  We also offer a drop in service in various locations across the county. Call our Dorchester office on 01305 216230 for details.
