A Valuable Resource for Our Town...
Gillingham Job Club is a very significant development for Gillingham. An organisation completely run by volunteers, which has proven itself to be an invaluable resource for the town and surrounding parishes by supporting and helping people get back into work, thereby helping their families and in turn the local economy.
Opened on the 26th November 2010, Gillingham Job Club has recently celebrated it's 5th birthday and has helped over 140 people back into paid employment.
On the 12th July 2011 "Gillingham Job Club's" Coordinator, David Walsh and Supervisor, Belinda Ridout, were presented with the "Action for Market Towns National Award" for winning the "Business and Economy" category in recognition of the most outstanding Market Towns Project. Also winning an award for the 'Most Transferable Project', this being demonstrated by the setting up of Blandford Job Club (http://blandfordjobclub.co.uk/) on Friday, 12th October 2012 and helping to set up new Job Clubs in Martock, Somerset and Sherborne, Dorset.
